Migration plan

Move once. Prove it. Switch off the overlap.

Use a short cutover window while a representative AttuneMail campaign is imported, reviewed, authenticated, and delivered. Then retire overlapping Constant Contact campaign sends.

  1. 1

Turn on the permission detail you need

If your team tracks CASL or GDPR permission status, Constant Contact recommends enabling Advanced Email Permissions before export; otherwise the spreadsheet may not include that status. Confirm this before creating the migration file.

  2. 2

Export the right list or segment

From Lists and segments, open the menu for the audience you want and choose Export. Select the contact fields and permission data that the campaign needs, then download the CSV from Import and Export Activity.

  3. 3

Upload the lists and permission states together

If several lists or contact-state exports are involved, upload them together. AttuneMail combines duplicate email addresses and gives opted-out, bounced, complained, or uncertain states priority over subscribed rows.

  4. 4

Configure one campaign and pilot it

Queue the CSVs in Migration Center and review the resumable job's accepted, blocked, duplicate, and invalid totals. Retry a failed chunk or safely roll back an incorrect import without deleting suppression history. Create the approved message from a reusable template, rebuild the required form with email confirmation where appropriate and the supported email journey or revenue playbook, and verify your domain before a staged send.

AttuneMail imports safely

  • Contacts from a selected list or segment
  • Chosen contact fields and custom data
  • Permission status when Advanced Email Permissions is enabled
  • Approved campaign copy and brand assets you use in AttuneMail templates and pages

AttuneMail replaces natively

  • Create and reuse campaign content in AttuneMail's template editor
  • Build hosted signup forms and block-based landing pages directly in AttuneMail
  • Rebuild supported email journeys from customer events, contact dates, or list changes with conditions and goal exits
  • Configure focused CRM and revenue playbooks for the email workflows AttuneMail will own
  • Choose imported contact and event fields that shape personalization inside the email composer

Only if your business uses these

These are adjacent CRM, channel, or historical jobs—not reasons to keep Constant Contact as your campaign-email platform.

  • Automation definitions and complex workflows beyond AttuneMail's focused email-journey model
  • List logic that is not represented in the exported file
  • Historical reports and engagement activity
  • Other marketing tools and integrations tied to the account
Cutover checklist

Protect consent, deliverability, and continuity.

  • 01Confirm the export includes the permission fields your policy requires.
  • 02Deduplicate multiple list exports without losing the source-list label.
  • 03Upload opt-out and uncertain-permission exports with the subscribed file so AttuneMail imports them as non-sendable.
  • 04Verify the AttuneMail sender domain and test unsubscribe handling.
  • 05Reconcile permission categories with the campaign-email preference and enable double opt-in on replacement signup forms when required.
  • 06Use a short overlap window until the pilot campaign is complete, then stop overlapping Constant Contact sends.
Constant Contact migration FAQ

Details before you move.

Will the Constant Contact export include consent status?+

It depends on your account configuration. Constant Contact says Advanced Email Permissions must be enabled if you need permission status for CASL or GDPR included in the export. Verify the resulting column before import.

Can I combine several Constant Contact lists?+

Yes, but combine them into one row per email address, retain the original list or segment in a column, and resolve conflicting permission states in favor of suppression until your team can verify them.

Do I need another tool for templates, forms, or landing pages?+

No. Those capabilities are native to AttuneMail. Constant Contact definitions do not transfer automatically, so configure the reusable template, hosted form, or landing page inside AttuneMail and archive the original definitions and history for reference.

How should I compare Constant Contact and AttuneMail pricing?+

Price the same contact count, monthly sends, users, automations, segments, SMS, and expected overages. Constant Contact's plan and contact count determine price, with plan-specific send multiples; AttuneMail packages active customer profiles, sends, connected event sources, playbooks, seats, and governance. Verify the current pages before buying.
